Summary of case: Frederick worked a farm for his widowed mother in law as her son was serving in the army and she had no-one to look after this farm. He was chiefly a horseman and breaks in young horses to supply the farming community due to the shortage of horses because of the war. Additionally his wife was delicate and could not look after the children on her own. Original decision of the local tribunal was temporary exemption till 30 Apr 1917 on condition he remained in his present occupation. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/2966]
