Summary of Case: ‘I am a wholesale and retail butcher at Broughton, Stokesley. I have had the business 18 years. I also have a slaughterhouse at Broughton. I sell to butchers at Middlesbrough and district wholesale and retail at Middlesbrough market. I have a stall in the market. I do all my own slaughtering. I have no one to assist me at all. I was granted exemption on the last occasion on the condition I took up work of national importance in the district for three days a week which I have duly carried out.’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/2264]
