Summary of Case: Swales doctor thinks he shouldn’t be called up because it proves fatal to Swales’ father who is 70 years old and suffers from chronic bronchitis and hearth disease. He also has a partially dependent invalid mother and invalid sister to care for. Swales’ own health is very bad and he feels he is unfit for military duties owing to chronic dyspepsia, as shown by the testimony of three doctors which has not been presented at the local tribunal hearing. The local tribunal adjourned for Swales to be seen by the local medical board on 29 Nov 1916 and 28 Feb 1917. Local tribunal granted conditional exemption to 29 Mar 1917.
