We have never appealed for any of our men, but have let them go freely, which has greatly depleted our staff and left us short of labour. Our staff at the present time consists of 13 men. Our work considers chiefly of Estate and farm repairs etc., of which we have some 1916 order, which have not yet been attended to. We have the largest business in the district for this class of work which covers a very wide area. This work must be carried on, both for Buildings, for Farm Stock and living dwellings, as it is of great national importance. After finishing my days work. I have to attend to the clerical, financial and estimating portion of the Business of which I have full charge and there is no one left who can undertake this.
