Summary of case: Daniel was the manager and only employee of a boot repairing business which serves the villages around Tanfield. Boot repairing was a certified occupation and the next nearest was over 4 miles away in Masham. Daniel was responsible and kept the books for his 75 year old father, mother and sister.
