Harrison appealed on 28 Mar 1917 stating he was the only son left at home to work in the 30 year established business and support his elderly widowed mother; as his three brothers had already been called up for military service. The clerk of the local tribunal noted that Harrison had agreed to take the military representative’s appeal to the local tribunal as a review of his certificate.
