Summary of case: The appellant states that he is main support for his parents who are in both aged 81 and in ill health and his sister. The appellant earned a good salary that supported his family. He has undertaken training for the North Riding Volunteer Regiment and has been medically advised that he is only passed for Bi duties. He contested the results from the medical board and a statement from his doctor states that he had placed him on a special diet. He ordered that Mr Boston should eat nothing that would not pass through a hair sieve, or was imperfectly cooked, and advised to eat toast instead of bread. He felt convinced if the appellant was taken away from home he would practically breakdown and be useless for military service.
