Summary of case: The appellant is married with one child and aged parents who are dependent on him. He is unattested because was medically rejected and has now been classified as a C1. He is the only man involved in his particular work in the village of Dalby-cum-Skewby and farms within the radius of 3 miles. He has a 12 horse power saw that he uses for the management of his 13 acres of timber. He also has a small holding of 4 acres where he keeps livestock. He owns his own house which is subject to a mortgage. In view of his medical condition to have duty at home, domestic position and financial hardship he submits that he has a certified trade and as such is exempt. The applicant was granted Temporary Exemption conditional on his keeping a diary and producing it when next applying. He has kept this diary. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/2214]
