Summary of case: He works on an 800 acre farm, the other men are over military age and he is needed to work the horses and other heavy work, so is indispensable. Even with the current workforce the farm is struggling. The local tribunal decided that the farm was in a better position than that of their neighbours and casual labour could be found in the village, “it is not necessary in national interests that the man appealed for remain in civil employment”.
