Summary of case: Knox is the only man left in the Night Department as all the others have joined the army. He is the only man left with the technical knowledge required, and the Borough Engineer has written many letters supporting his appeal, subject to ample time to recruit a replacement. Knox has a bladder problem and is awaiting the results of the medical board. The Local Tribunal granted an exemption until Apr 1917, North Yorkshire Tribunal referred the case to the Central Medical Board, whilst his employer Charles T Johnson continued to appeal for an exemption on his behalf with correspondence from March to June.
