Summary of case: Owing to the greater demands of the Army for men, this single man ought to be serving instead of remaining in civil employment. The local tribunal dismissed this appeal. There is a letter from J W Pennyman of Ormsby Hall stating that Mason was no longer required for National Registration work but had found work as a pipe fitter and continued to work as a bicycle repairer. ‘I think he has fully kept the spirit of the condition, and done his best.’
