Summary of case: Craig stated that Morley had been passed A1 for general service and therefore should join the army. The local tribunal justified their decision and refer to the Special Report made by the Whitby Butchers Association which states that the industry is in dire states as so many butchers and slaughterman have been called up. They are asking that those remaining should be spared, and therefore the local tribunal had given Morley a certificate of exemption. Craig appealed against the decision of the local tribunal.
