He has been in business for 20 years dealing in scrap metals and everything appertaining to a general dealer's business. His brass, copper, lead and iron goes to firms dealing directly with munitions about 10 tonnes per month and in winter he sends at least 300 dozen rabbit skins to Newcastle where they are made into glucose for explosives. Bone fat and metal are also used. Applicant does all this work himself without assistance. If he were called up it would result in financial ruin. The applicant suffers from chronic sciatica and myalgia. His doctor maintains that he unfit for military service under the conditions to which he would be exposed in bad weather.
