Summary of case: Mr Waltons employer considered his son indispensable to the successful carrying on of the business due to the fact he covered a wide geographical area which included Wensleydale, Swaledale, Teesdale, Middlesbrough, Redcar Marske Saltburn, Brotton, Skinningrove, York, Darlington, Shildon Bishop Auckland, Eaglescliffe, Potto and Swainby. Joseph W Walton was 70 and under medical advice not to take active part in the business. Two sons are on active service and lost an old assistant due to ill health. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/1546]
