Summary of case: The appellant begs to appeal from the decision of the Richmond Rural Tribunal who has refused him a further exemption. He is an innkeeper and builder. He has half a dozen small contracts on hand for repair work. He is also the landlord of the "Hare and Hounds" at Ravensworth. The appellant’s wife is delicate and on that account cannot manage the Inn alone She has no family. The appellant has £40 or £50 worth of scaffolding, building material etc. on hand He asks for a little more time to complete his contracts and reduce his building stock so as to lessen his loss which he will suffer on joining up. Appellant is 41 years of age next June. ' There were three masons from this village and the local tribunal very carefully considered all three cases together and decided that this man and J. S. Atkinson could be spared and gave exemption to the third man as he did not pass fit for general service.
