Summary of case: Wilson said he was neurasthenic, was the only son of his father and he was totally opposed to taking life on religious grounds. His initial appeal for exemption was refused because the clerk to the military representative was heard to say he (Wilson) had asked him “as to obtaining a commission.” Wilson, who knew the clerk well, denied this. Wilson withdrew his appeal before the due date.
