As a result of appellant’s answers to the vrious questions put to him by the members of the tribunal, they were of the opinion that this was not a case where absolute exemption should be given. Appellant a member of the No Conscription Fellowship.”
Brassey appealed against this decision, “I believe that all human life is God’s finest work and will not set myself up in defiance of the Supreme by assisting any organisation which tends to destroy his best creation. I contend further, that I have precisely the same claim to absolute and complete exemption from all military service, as others to whom this has been granted by the same tribunal which refused it to me.”
