Summary of case: Fletcher works as a shepherd, horseman and general farm work on his father's 200 acre farm. Five workers including his brother have already joined the army and his father, aged 77, is bedridden. His father has been unable to employ a shepherd over military age and has one horseman and young lad for the farm. Fletcher claimed exemption on the grounds of domestic hardship as he also provides a home for his 88 year old grandmother. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/1398]
