I hold at present time the Triennial contracts for the keeping in repair, renewals and additions to the buildings and premises comprising the Scarborough Barracks.’ Thomas Rhodes is Robert Pulleyn’s foreman carpenter and he has only one other carpenter to do all the carpentry works. ‘I am considerably in arrears with the whole of my work owing to the shortage of labour.’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/2074]
