Summary of case: Previous case number 2070. Pulleyn is a building contractor doing mainly government work which will occupy him and his employees until 31 Mar 1917. This included work on Scarborough Barracks, Scarborough Wireless Station and Strensall Camp. He had been granted exemption to 1 Jan 1917 by the local tribunal on the basis of working only on government/War Office work. He appealed after the cut-off date and due to this, his appeal was dismissed. Also, he had been known to be doing non-governmental work thereby not complying with the conditions of exemption set down by the local tribunal.
