His employer has a considerable amount of extra work because of the war and is required to have an assistant with Mr Shaw's qualifications. His previous assistant, Mr Mackay, left him in August 1915 to join the ArtistsÂ’ Rifle Corps (O.T.C) It would be very difficult to find a replacement for Mr Shaw.
