Summary of case: The family have two farms to look after by seven of the family. Four of the brothers have joined the army. The appellantÂ’s mother is in ill health and he has asthma. He has a brother with pneumonia who has been given absolute exemption. A F Fawcett helps on one of the farms and the work has come to a standstill on both farms as they are unable to get anyone to help. His sister who was housekeeping for his brother, died on 5 Dec 1916.
