Summary of case: Local tribunal granted conditional exemption on him staying in his current occupation and joining the Volunteer Training Corps. He also had to look after his father in law who broke up his home after his wife’s death and came to live with Breckon and his family. Breckon is a married man with three young children. His business caters for poorer members of the population and he has one man who is medically unfit and another over military age to assist. He would have to close his business if called up and this would cause serious hardship.
