Summary of case: Appellant says he conscientiously objects to all war “my convictions are based on the ground that all human life is sacred under all circumstances....The local tribunal seem to think that a conscientious objection must be based on religious ground mine are on moral grounds.” The evidence from the local tribunal suggests there was no evidence of conscientious objection prior to the outbreak of war. No evidence was given about exempt occupation. Grounds based on socialism, not religion. The local tribunal considered they were acting together. The documents include papers showing appellant’s case was considered further in September 1916, together with the case of George Robinson Jnr.
