Summary of case: McLeod has built the business up from one to three shops. At the time of appeal employs seven women and two lads. His wife assists as much as she can. He is also a sub-postmaster. Average takings £110 per week, £30 is wholesale trade and he supplies twelve other shops. If he was to be called up he would suffer serious hardship. It was suggested that McLeods father could take over the business but he is 67 years of age has a heart condition and is consistently under the doctor.
