Summary of case: Joseph Thornton has been forbidden by three doctors from taking any part in his businesses, so the whole of the work depends on his son, who has full responsibility including valuing antiques and horses, delivering items and grooming the horses. Most of his other staff have enlisted and advertisements for a replacement for his son have failed to produce anyone with the necessary combination of skills.
