Summary of case: I am a widow 66 years of age for 26 years I have kept the Travellers Rest Eppleby and since my husband death 12 years ago my son Tom Barras has been the mainstay of the business. I am sorry to say I am in a delicate state of health still been [sic) medically attended and unable to leave my room, cannot do anything myself towards it which is the means of my livelihood. I also have an acre of good gardening which would have to be cultivated which my son has managed for me since my other son voluntary enlisted 18 months ago. He decided to go been [sic] much stronger than Tom. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/1742]
