Summary of case: Shuttleworth is the only man in the hospital attending to men inured in the local works and mines. He is the only male attendant in the forty bed hospital and a lot of the work would be unsuitable for females. They have advertised for replacements and only had two applicants. One was liable to be called up and the other was ineligible owing to age at 59. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/1476]
