Summary of case: The appeal was based on the fact that he was also a boiler flue cleaner and it was very difficult to get men for this job. He had been doing them since he was 16 years old. She had multiple contracts including schools, the telephone exchange and many government premises. Local tribunal gave him temporary exemption to 20 January 1917, this was his second exemption. Their evidence to the County Tribunal stated that there was very little boiler work now and arrangements could be made for sweeping the chimneys. He has been passed fit as B1.
