Summary of case: He appeals that he is in a government certified trade extracting edible oil for food purposes, Rowntrees, and also domestic grounds, delicate wife, crippled boy, father 80 years of age and one daughter and baby partly dependent on him. Local tribunal refused application stating that Rowntrees had not applied for him hence they must not consider him in an exempt occupation. A previous exemption had been granted to him to 1 August to make domestic arrangements. Local tribunal did not consider that he was in a certified occupation and did not give him a further exemption. The County Tribunal granted him conditional exemption so long as employed as a munition worker as at present.
