Summary of case: Appeal to local tribunal by W. W. Whittaker, farmer, who said that he is the only man on an 87 acres farm of which 30 is arable and the medical board passed him for home service only. Local tribunal gave him an absolute exemption. Military appealed stating that as a single man, age 19, he should be granted Temporary exemption to 1 January 1917 in order that a substitute may be found. County Tribunal allowed the military appeal giving him temporary exemption to 31 July 1917.
