Being called to the army would result in financial ruin. He is married with three young children. Previously granted exemption to 18 November 1916 on grounds of serious hardship. Further exemption granted to 23 May 1917 by local tribunal. Appealed by military representative on the grounds that no serious hardship is evident should he be called up.
