Summary of case: ‘He is the only man in the place to manage this farm “Eastfield House” which contains 42 acres, more than half of which is arable. There are 19 beasts now on the farm and there will be more in winter, also three working horses besides pigs and poultry. I am a widow aged 61, and am unable to undertake management of the land myself, having worked hard all my life to bring up my two sons to farming. My son Robert is joint owner of this small farm and to all intents is the tenant of it.’ Includes an appeal to the Central Tribunal with was refused by the North Riding Appeal Tribunal.
