Summary of case: ’In the case of council schools, the County Education Committee only appeal for Masters where the average attendance is over 60. In this school the average attendance is under 50. It is not just that non provided schools should be in a better position than council schools. There is another school in Sherriff Hutton, and it should be easy to arrange for the education of the children, if this man joined the army, when men for army are wanted. The Central Tribunal have decided that school masters are not to be exempted.’
