Summary of case: Spaven & Co stated Mintoft was indispensable to their agricultural machinery business being fully qualified and experienced and that men of this class over military age were unobtainable. He could not be replaced without a successor having six or seven years’ experience in the same work. He overhauled and repaired a wide variety of agricultural machinery and also taught inexperienced hands how to work such machinery. Spaven & Co stated that Mintoft was in a certified occupation.
