Summary of case: T E Andrew is the only saddler between Skelton and Whitby. Not only does he support farms he works for Cargo Fleet Iron mines, Kilton mines, Skinningrove Iron Co. ,these three all being engaged in munitions hence of national importance, and the East Cleveland Co-Op. His son, John William Andrew, has just become useful and if he was taken Andrew senior cannot adequately perform the work required. The local tribunal thought the son should join the army.
