Summary of Case: Large working mixed farm of 204 acres. AppellentÂ’s age 63 and states would not be able to run the farm if his son, George, enlists and his employee, Arthur Hudson, is called up. This would only leave his other son and himself to run the farm. The local tribunal stated that the family comprised of 6 sons, None of which have joined the forces. The local tribunal was of the opinion that the youngest son of 14 could help and that there was sufficient labour available and so Arthur Hudson could be spared from the farm.
