Summary of case: Cave was the sole remaining employee of the York Bill Posting Company, although there was a 'Mr Sheldon and his staff' in the office. Cave's duties included posting bills at heights of 50 feet 'and it would be impossible for a very old man or for female labour to be engaged thereon'. Cave was also an NCO in the North Riding Regiment of Volunteers and was in charge of the National Mobilisation Scheme in a Ward. He followed up his appeal to the North Riding Appeal Tribunal with an application for permission for leave to appeal to the Central Tribunal. Leave to appeal was refused on 7 Oct 1916 by The North Riding Appeal Tribunal.
