The appellant made a second application on the basis of being a Stallion man for 15 weeks and a shepherd for the rest of the year, both being of national importance. He has three acres of land, 2½ acres of arable potatoes carrots, turnips, mangolds and barley the roots he shall have to take up himself. The local tribunals reasons for their decision states that the man's work as an Entire Horse Traveller ceased on 1 July 1916 and he was about to leave the service of his present employer and enter that of another. The local tribunal decided that there were no grounds to justify the man being exempted from being called upon to serve.
