Military Service Act 1916 or Attested: Attested

Summary of case: His employer stated that he was necessary to the business and that he would have to give up part of the business if this man went. In his original appeal to the local tribunal John Strickland stated that Goodwill was only passed fit for Garrison duty and hence might as well continue in his current employment. The local tribunal did not think him indispensable, stated that he had been passed fit for abroad and that previous exemptions had been allowed as they were supplying troops at Duncombe Park but this was now done with. They thought that they had been exceedingly generous and this application was merely to add on time so the man should go.
