The business prints a weekly local paper -the Cleveland Standard and had local printing contracts including to local firms eg steel works which had government contracts. William Nicholls writes to the North Riding Appeal Tribunal after the appeal hearing asking them to reconsider the case. He has visited the Local Government Board in London and the Board of Trade Secretary to the Certified Occupations authorised him to state that the man is now classed under the reserved list of Newspaper Printing. He states that they are trying to find an older substitute and will inform the tribunal if successful. The North Riding Appeal Tribunal was not prepared to reconsider.
