Summary of case: ‘I have seven acres of land 4½ in meadow about 1½ in Fruit trees with grass under, to mow by hand three beasts one horse sow in pig and geese turkeys and poultry. I have an oil engine for sawing fencing and chopping for farmers and does joiner work for local farmers such as cart and implement repairs. Am married and have a father over 70 years of age living with me am appealing for longer period as the fruit would not be ready to pick by Sept 1 and it would be a big loss if I could not stay to get it off I have gone to help a local farmer in harvest the last two years and can either stack or thatch and should I not get my fruit it would be a big loss as it is my most profitable time, am also a Special Constable. ‘
