Summary of case: ‘I appeal against the decision of the local tribunal which allotted me non-combatant service on the grounds of business hardship. It has taken me a number of years to build my Business up and my whole is invested in it. I have recently introduced new machinery at considerable cost in order to cope with the requirement of the military and at times have employed three men, I am reduced to one man at the present time and have great difficulty in meeting the public wants, I have orders in and material bought which would take me some time to execute and to have to dispense with my business under existing circumstances wold be a serious hardship.’
