Summary of case: That this man being engaged as a motor repairer is not a necessity to the neighbourhood, and therefore that the exemption granted namely conditional is not suitable. His age would not be a deterrent in this case, as if called up he would probably be employed in his own trade there being apparently a demand for skilled man in the Army. Though described as a blacksmith he does not apparently do any blacksmiths work, his business being exclusively confirmed to motors and cycles.
