Summary of case: ‘I have a wife and seven children the eldest a girl being twelve years of age and the youngest two year of age all absolutely dependent upon me. My wife is very delicate and quite unequal to the task of controlling managing and training such a large family of young children without my assistance. Even if my wife's health had been satisfactory which it is not I consider it of the greatest importance that my help should be continued to her and that at this period of their lives my large family of young children should not be deprived of my fatherly influence control and training.’
