Summary of case: Appellant on behalf of claimant states that he is now the sole worker of his own business having lost his other staff to the army. He is the sole supporter for his wife who in turn looks after her mother who is disabled. Claimant has three brothers, one of whom has died serving in Africa, another is serving in France and the third brother works on munitions in York. The business has 150 customers on the books including some of the best residences and schools in York but, he has not been able to find any other labour. Claimant states he would be at great financial loss if the business closed down. The local tribunal appear to question the amount he earns.
