Summary of case: Appellant states that the claimant as a Pawnbroker's manager is in a profession that cannot be easily replaced as it is described as the poor man's banker. If he were to be called up the business could not just close as it is written down in law that the possessions do not belong to the business and must be available back to the owner of 1 year and 7 days. Adverts had been placed in the Pawnbroker's Gazette and had come up with one possible applicant and Vowles wished for more time to pursue it. They have also taken advice and applied to the Labour Bureau how to obtain a soldier that had been discharged from the army but with no result.
