- deposition dated 21 December 1887 made by Thomas Holmes of the township of Northallerton relieving officer of the Northallerton Poor Law Union, that Dunning and his wife and child are chargeable to Northallerton Poor Law Union, and have been in receipt of relief from the common fund of Northallerton Union since 8 July 1887

- undated examination of William Thomas Dunning. He went to live at Stockton on Tees in county Durham in 1877 and lived there until 1884 when he went to live at Newcastle upon Tyne. He stayed in Newcastle for about 12 months and then returned to Stockton. He came to live in Northallerton in September 1886. He married Mary Ann at Newcastle on 3 June 1885 and his daughter was born on 11 March 1886 at Stockton

- undated examination of John James Relph of the township of Brompton clerk to Mr Fowle, clerk to the Guardians of the Poor of the Northallerton Poor Law Union. He made enquiries of Richard Dunning of Stockton upon Tees labourer, brother of William Thomas Dunning, confirming William's movements

- order dated 21 December 1887 for the removal of William Thomas Dunning aged 27 years, his wife Mary Ann Dunning aged 23 years, and their daughter Jane Ann Dunning aged 21 months, from Northallerton Union to Stockton on Tees Union in county Durham. Dunning is sick and this sickness will produce a permanent disability [2 copies]

- undated complaint of the Guardians of the Poor of the Northallerton Poor Law Union that the Dunning family are chargeable to their Union and have a settlement in Stockton upon Tees in county Durham; and application for an order of removal
