DescriptionBill of indictment of Robert Black a workman employed by Joseph Richardson, Henry Grant Spence, and Charles William Littleboy trading as Richardson Duck & Co at South Stockton for attempting to obtain 3s 9d from his employers
by falsely pretending to John Henry Taylor a timekeeper in the same company that he (Black) had worked for four and three-quarter days and was entitled to be paid 14s 3d. He had only worked for three and a half days and should have been paid 10s 6d

On a second occasion he also pretended to William Peacock a pay clerk in the same company that he had worked for four and three-quarter days and was entitled to 14s 3d. He had only worked for three and a half days and should have been paid 10s 6d

Offences committed on 29 April 1882 and 6 May 1882
