With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 9 April 1878 of Elizabeth Porritt for stealing 151/2 yards of red printed calico, the property of Charles Thompson Cammell, at Loftus on 26 January 1878. Porritt, with a previous conviction for felony, was sentenced to hard labour at the prison at Northallerton for nine calendar months. Certificate dated 16 October 1880
